I am from Norway. I have been to Diyarbakir before, so it is not like i dont know anything about the city. Remember before i was going there all people did tell me not to go because they did tell me the city was so different, not safe etc. I have not regret one time that i did go the first time. After 11 days i will be back in Diyarbakir to visit my boyfriend and his family. Look so much forward and i am not worried at all.

Hi

Firstly I would try and calculate a reason why you will see almost no expats living in and/or giving nice info about this area of Turkey...
Furthermore, i would ask your boyfriend and see his responce, ask him why so many people are giving negatives about this area of Turkey, even afew turkish people on this site would not feel comfotable about going to or living in Diyarbakir (warning bell's). Then have a serious think about it... and with all respects I mean seriously...

Good luck..

I lived there for a few months, worked for a terrible language school there, anyway - Diyarbakir is an interesting, often awesome place, but most people would definitely get bored if they had to live there, I think. And nowhere near as dangerous as Istanbullus would have you think.

I live here for more than a year with my husband, life is diffrent here, just have to get use to it. And i wouldn't say it's dangerous.
