A member of what community? Mymerhaba or Turkey?

Why dont you tell us what your questions are and then maybe we can help you. I am sure you have lots of questions, but general advice is hard to give. Also you can read through the past posts since alot of questions have already been asked.

Hi

Don't you mean AKYAKA, think your spelling is incorrect.

Make sure you check with the UK authorities that your marriage ceremony is recognised in the UK.

Why are you asking questions about the traditions, when the Turkish family you are marrying into should be advising you of them?

Travelling Light

Well excuse me for breathing, i was asking a question, wanted to know some information, not a lecture from some one who doesnt even know me, i thought that was what the forum was for, offering advise, making friends etc..

Nice first impression travelling light.

The poor girl put one extra letter in the word. I also think it is normal for her to wonder about Turkish traditions, yes her boyfriend and his family are probably helping her out but it is nice to hear from people who have been through the same thing.

Hi kelbelle

Thanks very much for your kind words, yes i have no doubt that my fiance and his family will advise me, but it is difficult at the moment as he is in turkey and i in england. I also have English friends in the village and they will be helping me too, but only when i'm there to make the arrangements, i'm getting married in October and i am very excited and i just can't wait, but naturally i am very curious to the traditions and just wanted to know about them before i go over so i know what to expect.

I hope for a lot more people to advise and get in touch with me, and i thank you in advance.

kelbelle where are you from?

Well Kittycat wont you be planning your own wedding? Or are they planning the whole thing, you might want to have a little bit of both your traditions. My family is from Istanbul and I think the wedding traditions in the cities and villages differ.

I do know of some websites geared towarrds women dating Turkish men. They would be helpful with all the wedding chat.

I am American and from Chicago

If you would like the address for the message board let me know
