Hello,

I am currently in Istanbul and my tourist visa will expire at the end of April. The soonest I can get a residency interview is mid-May. I read on-line that if you have an interview date set you should stay in Turkey and wait for it even if your visa will expire. Is this true, or do I need to leave the country before the expiration of my tourist visa. It is a 80/180 multiple entry tourist visa. Thanks.

Selim

Hi. I have been waiting for 9 months for my resident permit. As long as you have an interview randevo or waiting for the outcome of one, you can stay. You may not however leave or they will fine you for your overstay at the airport.

Hello, everybody, I have a similar problem. There are about 12 people working here from abroad, but the local regional manager didn't know the rules. A lot of peoples 90 days expire in the end of July. We could have our application appointments now in July, but the problem is almost everyone is going on holiday in August for nearly a month. If we all apply in July nobody will be able to leave for more than 15 days in August.
You write here that the confirmation of the appoinment booking can allow you to stay longer than the allowed 90 days, but it doesn't allow you to leave the country at all, right? What could be the possible soulution in our case?
