Hi there. I am looking for someone to watch my dog for a few days while I am on a work trip. I really hate the idea of her in a cage, and want someone to take care of her in their home.
She is a yorkie/maltese mix (size 0) and doesn't chew or bark and is housebroken. She's a complete sweetheart who gets along great with other dogs, but is a bit afraid of cats, so a house without cats is best.
Really, she's a cinch to take care of as long as you can take her out at least twice a day to go to the bathroom.
I'd be happy to watch anyone else's dog sometime as well, I know it is hard to have a dog in Istanbul without an extra support system.
I have a 7yrs old bulldog and I love to dogsit for anyone and hopefully you in return on occasion. I agree it is really hard to have a dog here without a support system. Istanbul is not the most dog-friendly place. Let me know in the future - would love to help out. pattyturk(AT)hotmail (dot)com

Hi, I'm looking for someone to look after my dog over christmas, for one week from the 22nd. Am willing to pay, if anyone is interested please PM me. Thanks.
To the original poster... your poor dog "only needs to go out TWO times a day" ??????
Why are Turks somehow convinced that dogs only need to go outdoors once or twice a day??? People frequently call or e-mail me asking if their dog is abnormal because they have to take it out 2-3 times a day instead of the "normal" 1 time a day. Huh????
I've been a dog owner for 44 years, and a dog sports competitor for 30 years. Trust me: dogs need to go outdoors for toilet purposes 4-6 times a day every day for their entire lives. Any dog owner in America, Europe, South America, Australia, NZ, etc. can confirm this. I could not even IMAGINE leaving a dog 12-16 hours without the chance to go outdoors.
When you are a dog owner, your life needs to revolve around your dog's needs. That means no more nightlife, after-work coffee, evening classes, trips to the gym, etc.--EVER--for your dog's entire 15+ year lifespan. Unless you can take the dog with you, of course! A responsible dog owner goes to work, comes home as quickly as humanly possible, and takes the dog for the first of several evening walks. People with long commutes (gone 9+ hours a day) shouldn't even own dogs unless they can make arrangements for somebody (neighbor, relative, pet-sitter, dog-walker) to take the dog out at lunchtime for a mid-day toilet break.
PLEASE do not subject any dog to going out once or twice a day. This is a form of torture for an animal whose natural desire is to keep their home spotless. Do *you* only use the toilet once or twice a day???
