Does anyone know anything about Finike? Ýt is possible that Ý may end up living there and wonder if there are other ex-pats in the town. For the Turkish experience it can't be beaten but as Ý am moving from Adapazarý, Ý would prefer to have a few more English speaking people around me.
you will be about an hours drive west of Antalya good beach and a few big hotels there and some nice fish restaraunts. out of season probably a bit quýet but in season fairly busy.

I am french and have settled in Finike 10 years ago (part time now, and full time next year).
Finike is a pretty little town, around 10 000 inhabitants totally different from all other towns on the west seaside.
Not a single "tatil koyü", only one big hotel 5 km from the town. No foreign tourist even in summer, except in the setur marina (450 spots), but a lot of turkish tourist.
About 20 expats I think, mainly german, some english and some french.
In low season the life is very quiet of course, but it is a true town, not a collection of bars, disco, restaurant...To say the truth no bar at all, some pleasant restaurant with only local customers.
A good hospital, some half size supermarkets. For special items you have to go to Antalya (1h30 drive).
I ve been to Finike. mmm realy beautiful! Oh, If I buy a summer house one day I will buy it in Finike. Actually I am from Akyaka and this is a kind of Paradise too. have a look: www, akyakam, com

Hi
I settled in Finike 10 years ago. It is a small town, around 10000 inhabitants, 120 kms, one hour and a half; from Antalya. The town is very pleasant with a big marina, a little fishermen harbour and a river crossing the city. The mayor of Finike has been elected as one of the "best myors of Akdeniz for his environment actions. And the city center is actually very pleasant.
One of the advantage of Finike is the absence of mass tourism. Only one hotel club 8 km from the city center. The main resource of Finike are the oranges and lemon. That means the city is living all year long, even in winter, and not only during the tourism season.
On another hand not a single bar and no shops for tourists, but a lot of little restaurants mainly used by locals. But a very good boutique hotel (of course, it is mine) that has been classified this year as "one of the best small hotels in Turkey" by the guide book "küçük oteler kitabi".
From Finike you can make good trekkingsin the mountain (lykianyolu) and you are less than one hour from sites like Kekova, Arykanda, Olympos...
The pric eof land is around 20000 euros for 1000m² if you buy in the orange grove.
