Or am I just being paranoid?

The first time I posted to introduce myself the post was deleted.

The second time I posted to introduce myself the post was not only moved to Speakers corner, but my intro was deleted, and only responses to my post remained.

I've never been on a forum where such things have happened, without the author being given a reason for such actions.

Is it because I used the word Kurdish?

No not really, nothing was deleted by the team. We lack some posts because we had to restore from a backup.

I looked at your recent thread. The whole board is going trough a screening and rearrangement, and your thread seems to be split, let the team know if you feel its awkward, perhaps it might help form more moderation policies.

Thanks for your response and your reassurance.

Personally I believe that moderation policies are something that this forum is crying out for.

If the forum itself doesn’t operate an anti Kurdish policy, then why does it allow anti Kurdish posts? Would you allow posts that were racist towards other minority groups?

Firebrand,

Just report any post you find offensive (the red exclamation icon). We are committed to keep the place friendly.

Iceman,

A softer initial approach could have led to a more constructive thread. Such as kindly reminding Firebrand that these issues are sensitive in Turkey instead of a harsher tone

I think any political subject can be freely discussed as long as every contributing party manages to maintain some empathy.

Political debates are moved to the forum "Speakers Corner". If it gets too hot and disturbing the team may delete the thread alltogether. Its hard to set standards for an intercultural forum and I expect the policies to remain fuzzy and hope the community will set its own standards. Speaking of, every members feedback is welcome and very valuable for eventually forming more housekeeping rules.
