Hi
I am a British person with Turkish residency and have my own place here, money in bank etc... I have a Chinese lady friend who wishes to visit and stay longer than her normal visa..she will be staying with me. Now does anybody know if she is entitled to apply for a residency visa or is there restrictions on certain countries. She is not looking to work to start with but she is a qualified English teacher and may pursue that path in the future. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hi irnbru630
From you email I understand that both of you are not married and she is here on a tourist visa. As for you, you have a resident permit which only allows you to stay in Turkey for a certain period of time.
From my experience with my other Chinese friend, she would definitely need to get an extention on her tourist visa in order to stay longer in Turkey. From other foreigner, they could hop over to the Greece Islands or Bulgaria to renew their tourist visa. It would be difficult for a Chinese.
