Hi,

The last information I could find about getting an IUD in Turkey was from 2007. What I really want is a Gynefix, as I have never had a child and it seems the most appropriate, although I am open to other suggestions.

My questions are:

Does anyone know if today, in the year 2011, Gynefix is yet to be available in Turkey, or what options are available?

Whether you have the answer to the above question or not, what are my options in terms of where to go to get, specifically, a copper IUD? I live in Istanbul.

Finally, for both questions, does anyone have any idea as to the costs associated with such procedures today? I do not have the ability to use my insurance for this endeavor.

Thanks!

A Student in Istanbul

Now that I have the information, I thought I would post the information for other women. The American Hospital in Istanbul will insert a copper IUD. The appointment for any IUD is 250 TKL. The IUD itself was 50-80 TKL for the copper and more, I think around 150 TKL for the ones with hormones.

I did it, and I'm very satisfied.
