An eight week Creative Writing workshop (English language only) will begin 19 July. This workshop is designed for those at a beginner or intermediate level.
Class sizes are, maximum, eight people, allowing an intimate environment in which to discuss the students' work. The aim of the course is to develop the student's fiction writing skills through the creation of two short stories over a period of eight weeks. Each student will be expected to provide intellegent feedback towards the work of his/her peers within the workshop environment. The instructor, an American writer and critic in residence in Istanbul, will also provide criticism and suggestions for improvement of the student's work. Classes will be held once weekly during the evening from 6pm to 9pm, in the Tunel area. The class will be a 1.5 hour lecture on craft and theory, followed by private meetings between the student and instructor to discuss the students work.
The price for the full eight week course is 240 Turkish Lira, which must be paid in full during the first class. Students are expected to arrive to the first class prepared with a fictional short story of 3000 words or less.
