I use my 5m motor boat nervously because I haven't got a Turkish Captain's licence and the coast guards run spot checks. My Turkish isn't good enough to take the exam and you can't take an "interpreter" in with you any more. I've finally discovered that you can drive here legally on an International Certificate of Competence. There is just one English company in Turkey running a two day course for this so that's what I'm going to do.

The course should be fun; it's two days, mainly practical, on their boat, and you don't have to pass an exam :) At the moment they need two more people to make it viable, so I'm hoping a couple of you will come along! It's on May 6th/7th in Marmaris. I'm not sure that I'm allowed to put a link to them, so please send me a message if you are interested. Or you can go to the Royal Yachting Association's web site and browse their approved training companies; Turkey has one entry.
