Pantomime in Istanbul - Aladdin and the Magic Lamp

The British Community Council's pantomime for 2012 kicks off with auditions on Saturday, Sept 15, at 10 am. Come on down to join the chorus (we have a terrific choreographer this year, don't worry if you can't dance yet!), audition for a part, or simply want an excuse to make friends by helping out with fund-raising, making props, or helping out backstage. We need kids aged 10 and up, and adults.

Auditions are at 10am at the British International School in Etiler, Dilhayat Sok., Etiler

(Dilhayat Sok. is behind the Mado and Starbucks cafes on Nespetiye Cad.; the street is parallel to Nespetiye Cad. If walking or driving from Akmerkez in the direction of Bosphorus University, turn right after Venus patisserie onto a road marked “Bebek”. Dilhayat Sok is the first left. It is a ten minute walk from the Akmerkez shopping mall.)

WHAT IS PANTOMIME?
Pantomime is traditional, British, Christmas-season musical comedy (not mime), and it is for volunteer adults and children (aged ten and over), of any nationality, wanting to enjoy acting, dancing and singing in English. Also welcome are all those who wish to have fun creating a great show, meeting people, and giving something to the community by doing choreography, music, sound, lights, costumes, props, decor, ticket sales, program, concessions, back-stage (set up, performances, clean up) or finding sponsors. All post-costs proceeds from ticket sales are donated to a local charity.

Important Dates to Note: Participants must be able to come to Wednesday evening and Saturday morning rehearsals as well as and performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 14 - 16 2012.
Questions?
Kathy Panton, 0553 252 8803, if you can help us find sponsors or take on any other production jobs.
Sharon Inci, 0537 917 4407 for questions or alternate dates for auditions.
Parents or guardians of participating children are expected to supervise children during rehearsals and performances and to pay for their costumes (which children can keep after the performance)
