I have accepted a position at Sehir University and I will be arriving in the country in the beginning of July. I have been browsing for apartments online and was wondering if someone can help me with making a decision as to where to live. Thinking about either Kadikoy or Uskudar??? Are the prices of rentals vastly different between these 2, if so where is cheaper? Is Kadikoy to far from Altunizade to travel everyday without a car? Or if there is somewhere else I should be considering let me know. Thanks for your help in advance.

I suggest Kadiyoy area. Rentals subject to your expectations but will start around 700 TL up to 2500 TL , for living both area same economic posiblities.

Travel is not a problem from Kadıoy or Uskudar to Altunizade. There are to many alternatives as public transportation to Altunizade

If any further questions please do not hesitate to ask

regards

Hi,

Both Kadikoy and Uskudar are very big areas with many choices for accommodation. There are bus and minibuses between the areas. I live in an area called Kosuyolu which is right on the edge of Uskudar/Kadikoy and it is a great place to live. I've been here for over 14 years and wouldn't consider moving elsewhere. It has lots of restaurants / bars / parks / green spaces / hospitals and is very easy to get to from many places. It is within walking distance (<2KM) of Altunizade.

I don't what what type of area you want to live in but Bostanci is not close to the center of Kadikoy and you would find it hard to travel to Altunizade. Acibadem is much closer but depending on where you live there you would have to get a minibus or two / metrobus to Altunizade.

PM me know if you need further info.

Kadıköy and Üsküdar are the main transport hubs of this part of the city. From both, it is possible to find a direct dolmuş, bus or minibus line to almost anywhere in Asian Istanbul, and also to a lot of places in the European Side. Bostancı on the coast of Marmara Sea is a secondary hub, but an important one nonetheless.

Thanks
