Does anyone know of a rowing team or club in Istanbul where inexperienced rowers are free to join?

There is a club in Bostanci; I'm told that the hours are at the whim of a few members- but this is 3rd hand info. I can't recall the fee. They also have wind surfers and some small sail boats. I will post here as I know more. İyi şanslar.

There's also one at Halic / Haskoy and I quite often see 2's and single skulls going up and down outside the construction site that I was working on.

Yeah, the Halic one is popular and all people I know that go there like it a lot - both beginners and experts ;)

Ok finally, ask for Hakan, he runs the club in kasimpasa, just past the military barracks as you head towards Eyup. his number is 05327983660. Have fun :)

Hey,

Similarly to the people above, I am also looking for coaching/training sessions in Istanbul, for July and August, preferably not too far away from Şişli.

I have been rowing in Budapest, Hungary with the Danubius Rowing Club (http://dnhe.hu/) since last September, in a coxed double scull (2x) and coxless quad scull (4x).

I have tried contacting a number of clubs via e-mail and asked a Turkish friend to call Galataseray, but I received no reply and Galataseray is apparently not taking in hobby rowers this year.

Do you have any alternative ideas? I am really missing my training and don't want to lose my place on my team back home. :S

Çok teşekkür ederim,

Gergely
