I will be relocating to Turkey in February 2011 and already own several desktop computers. I would like to take at least one of them with me, but not if I am going to be taxed at the border more than it would cost to buy a new one in Turkey. Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of bringing a computer with us when we relocate?

This does not answer my question about taxes I could be charged at the border. What are the odds that I will be charged a tax and what is the rate? Anyone?

MWB. If you arrive by Air,then I doubt very much if you will be stopped or charged any amount. If you are unfortunate and do get stopped then it will be upto the guy thats stopped you to decide on how much you pay.
If you come in by land or sea then I am unable to answer your question.
As a safe guard I would bring in the loading disc's to enable you to buy a computer in Turkey and load it in your own language.Good Luck.
