Post subject: Bringing a guitar to Turkey - which songs to sing?

Hi I am a 50 YO Danish guy who is planning to go backpacking in Turkey next year, probably walking part of the St. Paul Trail and staying in the South West of Turkey for a while. I have two questions and any help is much appreciated.
1) To help me connect with the locals I plan to bring my guitar and I would like to prepare a repertorie of, say, 20 songs to perform, songs that are part of my musical heritage, i.e. from the Western pop and rock music heritage. I want to know which songs may be the most generally well recognized by the normal Turkish people that I may meet in a local cafe or Tea house. I assume that Beatles and Abba songs are well known, and maybe Britney Spears and Michael Jackson, but I really have no idea. 2) On my first visit to Turkey, dating back to the '90s, the Tarkan song "Sikidim" was played on the radio constantly. It is a great pop song and I consider learning it because I assume that the locals would be thrilled to hear a tourist like me sing one of their pop songs. I don't speak Turkish but I am sure that I can learn to sing this song anyway, albeit with a strong accent. I hope that the locals will have fun and by singing the song I want to show that I don't take myself too seriously.
I am afraid that the lyrics may be a bit too "hot" for some but really, I have no idea. The most daring line in the song seems to be "oynama sikidim sikidim" which I belive to mean something along the lines of "Don't dance, don't shake your body". Is there a risk that people in a typical Turkish village will feel offended by me singing that line?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Soren
